Attorney Carthens Smith graduated from Campbell University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Government. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree, she attended law school at North Carolina Central University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor. While in law school, Attorney Carthens Smith was a member of the AAJ and BLSA Trial Teams and won first place in the Willie Gary Closing Argument Competition held annually for third-year law school students.
Since law school, she has interned and worked with law firms in Durham, Fayetteville and the Wake County District Attorney’s Office.
She is an Iraq War Veteran, serving in the United States Army as a truck driver apart of the 30th Brigade Combat team.
She has a strong passion for her fellow veterans and their families and works hard to ensure that legal representation is available to them by offering flexible payment plans.
When she is not practicing law, she enjoys movies, shopping, attending church, and spending time with her family.
Joyce Webb Stewart is a Native of Freeman, NC in Columbus County.
She is a Receptionist at The Carthens Law Firm, PLLC. She has been with the firm for 8 months.
Prior to working at The Carthens Law Firm, Joyce was employed with the Town of Elizabethtown Municipal office as an Administrative Support Specialist for 5 years.
She has studied Administrative Essentials at Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, NC and Fayetteville Technical Community College.
She has 15 years of Administrative experience which includes Finance, Customer Support and Banking Customer Service.
Joyce is a Christian and enjoys attending church. She is a member of Faith Tabernacle Christian Center in Saint Pauls, NC.
Joyce Enjoys helping, Supporting, giving to others, spending time with her husband, children, grand children and friends.
She has been a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for 8 years and enjoys sharing her Business with other women.
She is also a Notary Public.
Kiara Beatty is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Sociology. While studying for her Bachelor’s, she served as Vice President of The Pre-Law Society on campus.
After receiving her Bachelor’s, she went on to obtain her Master’s of Business Administration. Her past educational background also includes an Associate’s in Criminal Justice from Sandhills Community College. She was named as one of “Who’s Who” during her undergraduate academic career, and also became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Her previous positions include legal intern work for law firms throughout both Cumberland County and Robeson County, tutoring fellow peers throughout her academic career, and working as an administrative assistant at Sandhills Community College.
In her spare time, Kiara enjoys spending time with family, shopping, traveling, attending church, and cooking.
